Since 1998, ALTOMAYO has stood for 100% organic Arabica coffee from Peru. Our coffees come from certified organic cultivation and combine their Peruvian origin with long-standing relationships with coffee-producing families, as well as a gentle long-term drum roasting process in Germany. This results in distinct flavor profiles – from mild and balanced to full-bodied and strong.
Our organic Arabica beans come from Peru and are grown in the Peruvian highlands. Since 1998, ALTOMAYO has been closely connected to the origin of its coffees and the local people.
Arabica refers to one of the most important coffee species. For our ALTOMAYO coffees, we use 100% Arabica beans from certified organic cultivation. Depending on the coffee, roast, and preparation, this results in a variety of aromas and flavor profiles.
Our organic coffees are refined in Germany using a gentle, long-term drum roasting process. The roast is tailored to each individual coffee, allowing distinct flavor profiles to develop – from mild filter coffee to bold espresso.
Yes. ALTOMAYO offers both decaffeinated organic coffee and decaffeinated organic espresso. The green organic Arabica beans are decaffeinated before roasting using the CO₂ method with natural carbonic acid. Our decaffeinated coffees contain less than 0.1% residual caffeine.
That depends primarily on your taste and your preferred preparation method. If you like it mild and balanced, for example, our Café Altura is a good choice. For a full-bodied Café Crema, our Café Crema is ideal. Those who prefer a strong espresso will find a more intense variety in our Espresso Intensivo. We also include decaffeinated alternatives in our range.
Coffee should be stored in a place that is as dry and cool as possible, protected from light, heat, and strong odors. Reseal the packaging carefully after opening and, ideally, grind whole beans only shortly before preparation.
Yes, our ALTOMAYO organic coffees are available at selected organic retailers and other retail partners.
